The Trees and The Wild

Local indie label Lil’Fish Records discovered the Trees and the Wild on Myspace in 2008 and the band released its debut album Rasuk the following year, bagging a host of awards. Rolling Stone Indonesia called the Trees and the Wild one of the year’s must-see acts, while the Jakarta Post recognized an “epic quality” to their songs.
Remedy says the band draws their lyrical inspiration from “family, Indonesian life and landscape.” While their melodic influences include traditional Indonesian folk music and hymns, their cultural interests stretch beyond music. The band recently collaborated with videographer Dimas Wisnuwardono on a short documentary about a group of villagers from Tana Beru in Bulukumba, South Sulawesi, struggling to preserve and restore their antique pinisi boat. Expect that empathy and love for the rhythms of Indonesian life to suffuse their sophomore recording, due later this year.
Raisa

Raisa Andriana (born June 6th 1990), is a newcomer in Indonesian music business. Growing up with minimal music education, she learn her unique singing style and voice through some of her favorite singers like Brian McKnight, India Arie, Stevie Wonder, JoJo, Joss Stone, Alicia Keys, James Ingram, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, etc. Her music is mostly pop with a touch of r&b, she is hoping to give a new colour to Indonesian music industry with her deep soothing voice that you will love to listen over and over again.
Her first single “Serba Salah” will be launched in July, and the rest of the album by the end of the year. Produced by Asta from RAN, Handy and Rio from Soulvibe, the unique sound of RAISA will soon come to your hearing pleasure.
Sunset Groove
Myspace | Facebook | Twitter
Sunset Groove is Indonesian indie-local band with a touch of 90′s alternative rock pop sound. So far, Sunset Groove has 10 recorded-songs and there would be whole lot more to come.
Sunset Groove has been together as a band for almost 2 years and had continuously evolving and trying our best to keep on writing songs. They are unsigned yet to any major label. So, please support them, so they could make it in the business. This Trax FM Indopendent Band has a mission to make a positive impression in Indonesian music scene.
Afterclass
Myspace | Facebook | Twitter
Despite of their differences, their music is reminiscent of the twee/ sunshine pop. Influenced by the Velvet Underground, The Beatles, The Wonders, The Smith, Rocketship, makes it sounds childish, sweet and cheerful. Their easily-to-be-digested lyrics makes Afterclass such an easy-listening band. It’s the music you would love to hear while you were doing picnic in the park with the-striped-shirt and an old-bike.
