Maroon 5 Live in Jakarta is one of the most anticipated concert on 2011. It’s Java Musikindo’s third concert on April, and their third sold-out concert. The rumor said, about 8,200 audiences were there. Singing, dancing, and screaming for the band, especially for their lead vocals, Adam Levine. Can you imagine? Yes, it was insane.
About 15 minutes after 8 PM, where the show should starts, Maroon 5 walked into the stage, and plays Misery, If I Never See Your Face Again, and Harder to Breathe. What an incredible way to start an incredible night!
After Give A Little More, the band plays The Sun, with snippet of Bill Jean from Michael Jackson in the middle of the song. The crowd going crazy when the band play their sing-along hit I Won’t Go Home Without You. For me, feels like there’s no tribune class that night, cause the crowds are standing, jumping and go crazy! At some point, you can call them as a jam band, with the long guitar and drum solo as delightful surprise.
The highlight of the concert comes in the acoustic version of She Will Be Loved when the crowd beautifully singing the final part. Please don’t try so hard to say goodbye!
The band close their first session with This Love, and then play Hands All Over, Makes Me Wonder and Sunday Morning on the encore. Before Sunday Morning, Adam Levine introduces his band, including the 6th man, PJ Morton on keyboard as touring member. The introduction session includes the drum solo with Adam Levine lays on stage watching Matt Flynn shows his drum skills.
Indeed, Adam Levine is a great great great front-man. He has the charisma and unmatched ability to personally connect with all the ladies at Istora Senayan. His voice has the same quality as the studio version, and he shows us his guitar skills. It’s just amazing. He knows all the ladies are scream at him, and even the Jakarta’s traffic jam and those a**holes mosquitoes can’t beat him that night.
Maroon 5 had the whole Istora Senayan screaming, singing and dancing. What a great night. Thank you Adam Levine, Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden, James Valentine, and Matt Flynn!
